Minimum requirements
A doctorate in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Telecommunications, or a relevant equivalent qualification
Significant teaching, research and/ or industrial experience in Electrical Engineering
A proven research track record
Professional registration or eligibility to register with ECSA, SAIEE will be advantageous
Applicant should submit a Research Statement and Teaching Philosophy
Core functions
Involvement in research and innovation (publications and presentations), supervision of postgraduate students and writing research proposals for funding
Involvement in the development of research capacity in the department
Presenting lectures in Electrical Engineering subjects
Participation in community service projects
Industry liaison and involvement in the development of a new curriculum
Knowledge of the regulatory framework of higher education and other statutory professional councils (HEQC, HEQF, SAQA, HE Act.)
